FAQ
How does transcription work?

Dictantor transcribes recordings directly on your iPhone. The transcription model is included with the app, so core transcription does not require an internet connection. Apple Watch recordings are transcribed after they transfer to the paired iPhone.

How do I record with Apple Watch?

Open Dictantor on your paired Apple Watch or launch it from a complication, then tap record. The recording is stored locally on the Watch and sent directly to your iPhone when you stop. No account or internet connection is required.

Why is my Watch recording shown as Pending?

Pending means the recording is safely stored on your Apple Watch while the paired iPhone is unavailable. Dictantor transfers it when the connection is restored; if Retry appears, you can also retry manually.

Which languages are supported?

Dictantor supports 25 European languages for local transcription: Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, German, Greek, English, Spanish, Estonian, Finnish, French, Croatian, Hungarian, Italian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Maltese, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swedish, and Ukrainian.

Why don’t I see insights?

Insights require a compatible device with Apple Intelligence enabled, iOS 26.0 or later, and support for the transcript language. When unavailable, the Insights tab is hidden; recording, transcription, playback, search, and export still work.

How do I export my recordings?

Open a recording and use export to share audio, a transcript, or both. You can also swipe a recording in the list on the main screen to reveal the available actions.
